About

How the numbers are checked, and how the site pays for itself.

How the numbers are checked

Every fee, validity period and processing time on this site is taken from the government that issues the permit, not from other travel guides. Where a figure is disputed or recently changed, the source is named on the page so you can confirm it yourself.

How this site makes money

Stated plainly because the subject is full of sites that are not straight about it.

Currently accurate, revisit when this changes

At the time of writing this site carries no advertising and no affiliate links, and earns nothing.

If that changes, the intention is to say so in three places: here, in the footer, and directly beside any link that earns a commission. United States rules require a disclosure that is clear, conspicuous and placed before the recommendation rather than buried at the bottom of a page, so a footer line alone would not be enough.

Whatever happens, the official government link stays first and stays free, because it is always the cheapest route and the whole point of the site is saying so.

Contact

Write to hello@checkedtofly.com with a correction, a question about a specific permit, or anything legal. Corrections are the most useful thing you can send, especially if you have just been through a process and something here did not match.

We cannot submit an application on your behalf, check the status of one, or advise on an individual immigration case. For those, contact the relevant embassy or a licensed immigration adviser.
