The same for every eligible nationality, including Americans.
Extendable once, on site, for another 30 days at the same price.
The period in which you must arrive. This is not the same as the length of stay.

Validity and stay are two different clocks
Immigration states this explicitly because people get it wrong.

The Directorate General of Immigration spells this out. The validity period of the visitor visa is 90 days as stated on the visa. If you arrive after that 90 day period you must apply again. The 30 days is what you get once you are in the country, and the two numbers are frequently reported as if they were one.

The suffix .go.id is restricted, so the first address is provably official. The second is a contractor appointed to run part of the service, in the same way Brazil appointed VFS Global. A restricted suffix proves official status, but its absence does not prove the opposite.
How to apply
Do this before you fly. The airport version exists but the queue is the point.
- Open the official e-visa portal and create an account.
- Choose the visa on arrival, listed as the visitor visa.
- Upload your passport photo page and a passport style photograph.
- Enter your arrival date, flight and accommodation details.
- Pay IDR 500,000 by card.
- Save the approval as a PDF and on your phone. It is checked at the automatic gates on arrival.
What goes wrong
Four failures, and the last one now costs a trip to an immigration office.
- Reading the 90 days as your holiday length. It is the window in which you must arrive. Your stay is 30 days.
- Arriving at a port that does not accept it. The visitor visa is only valid at listed airports and seaports. Ngurah Rai in Bali, Soekarno Hatta and Juanda are all listed, but smaller entry points are not.
- Treating it as multiple entry. It is single entry. A side trip to Singapore and back needs a second visa.
- Expecting to extend online. Since June 2025 an extension requires a visit in person to a local immigration office. It can no longer be done entirely online.
What changed
One change already in force, and one proposed that would double the airport price.
Extensions can no longer be completed online and require a visit to a local immigration office.
Immigration announces a proposed new structure: IDR 750,000 for the visa arranged online, and IDR 1,000,000 for one bought on arrival. No implementation date has been confirmed.
